Brunch is a ritual for many, and finding the best brunch in downtown San Francisco can be tricky, so we’ve put together some pointers to make your not-quite-breakfast and not-quite-lunch absolutely eggs-cellent! 

Fish & Farm — 424 Clay Street. Open daily from 6:30am - 11pm, Fish & Farm is an adorable spot any time of the day. With daily drink specials plus bloodys, bellinis, mimosas and more, the bar serves up snappy spirits alongside a stunning selection of teas, coffees and specialty coffee drinks (if you catch our drift — wink, wink)! Their breakfast menu is commendable with everything from pancakes and eggs, omelets, sandwiches, scramblers, sides and more, so you can certainly find something to please every palate. Plus, Fish & Farm’s dedication to sourcing locally and sustainably makes this one of the top spots for brunch in downtown San Francisco.

Irish Times — 500 Sacramento Street.  While an Irish pub cum sports bar may not be your first thought when it comes to brunch, this San Francisco location certainly fits the bill! With full bar and traditional Irish fare served up fresh daily, you can certainly make this downtown destination a stop on your brunching checklist. From French toast and omelets to breakfast burritos and sandwiches, the daily breakfast menu is offered from 9am - 11am during the week and 9am to 2pm on weekends. Definitely check out their full Irish breakfast and mini version too. Add a pint or a drink and you’ll be saying “Sláinte” in no time!

Sam’s Tavern — 368 Bush Street. Open at 10am on weekends, Sam’s Tavern has been the place to meet, mingle, graze, nosh and hobnob with friends old and new since 1867. A staple of the downtown San Francisco scene, Sam’s has a full bar and a delicious breakfast menu, full standard menu and signature cocktails to boot. From fresh-squeezed OJ to corned beef hash and eggs, Sam’s hearty fare will keep you full and their extensive wine list, bottled and draft beers and classic cocktails make this place a must-stop for brunch in downtown San Francisco. 

The Melt — 925 Market Street. Nursing a hangover and need a fix? The Melt has your back. With weekday and weekend hours you can get counter service or delivery of incredible and highly edible mac ‘n’ cheese, burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheeses, salads, soups, fries, desserts, shakes and drinks. There’s no booze on the menu at this location, but if food is your goal, The Melt is where it’s at.

Il Canto Cafe — 500 Sacramento Street.  With online ordering only Il Canto Cafe really delivers! From breakfast burritos and egg sandwiches to heartier fare, cookies, brownies and baked goods and a delicious offering of coffee drinks and the like, you’ll find them on numerous ordering apps and platforms, like Clover.

JOE & THE JUICE — Two Locations: 235 Montgomery Street & 380 Bush Street. Offering pick-up and delivery, JOE & THE JUICE is famous for their fresh juices, healthy shakes, delicious sandwiches and more, like their Breakfast Bundles that are a brunch in and unto themselves. Try their breakfast bowls, shakes, shots and signatures to make your own special brunchy-time at home! 

Noah’s NY Bagels — 100 Bush Street,. Ste. 102. Open super early and closing at 2pm daily, Noah’s serves up craveable bagels, schmears, lox, breakfast burritos and sammies, sweets and baked goods, avocado toast and coffee drinks in classic New York style. Check out their Everyday Brunch Box that’ll feed a family, or simply order your own favorite creation. There’s so much to choose from and their hash browns and blueberry muffins are faves around these parts.

Wayfare Tavern — 558 Sacramento Street. Sitting down with a group of friends for weekend brunch at Wayfare Tavern is a tradition ‘round these parts. This classic English pub serves up a modern American brunch starting at 11:30am on weekends and offers a pretty impressive selection of spritzers from its full bar alongside a special brunching menu. Choose from eggs, sides, salads, French toast, fried chicken and waffles or a classic Croque Madame, baked macaroni and cheese, burgers, seafood entrées and more. The Southern Deviled Eggs and Prime Beef Tartare are some of our faves from the menu to savor while you sip a morning drink and discuss last night’s adventures. You can try your luck or make a reservation and either is perfectly acceptable.
