Improve your game with free lessons from Mechanics' Institute’s masters or challenge your mates on our jumbo chess board at the Mechanics Monument Plaza from 12-1 PM. Plus, enjoy a FREE treat from Avotoasty (while supplies last), courtesy of the Downtown SF Partnership.

Learn directly from the best, including International Master Elliott Winslow and Zorba Hughes, who’ll be on hand to offer guidance and challenges for all levels. Chess Instructors will be on the Plaza from 12 PM - 1 PM.

• April 9th: Free Avocado Toast, choice of:
  • Naked Toasty (classic Avotoast on artisan sourdough bread)
  • Eggy Toasty (classic Avotoast with egg)

• April 16th: Free Smoothie, choice of:
  • Acai Berry Smoothie (spinach, almond milk, blueberries, acai, hemp seeds, banana)
  • Cocoa Bliss Smoothie (cocoa powder, banana, hemp seeds, peanut butter, vanilla, almond milk)

• April 23rd: Free Acai Bowls
  • Their signature acai bowl with granola, strawberries, banana, coconut flakes, and honey
