The Commercial Break Marketplace is a new community activation series designed to bring renewed energy and connection to Commercial Street, one of San Francisco Chinatown’s historic corridors. By transforming the block into a pedestrian-only public space, the Marketplace offers a welcoming environment featuring pop-up vendors, community seating, and cultural programming.
Location: Commercial Street, between Kearny and Montgomery Streets.
Free Canvas Painting Workshop
The first 2- people to sign up will have a chance to join a free canvas painting workshop during the event. Participants will be able to take their finished artwork home.

Chinese Bilingual Singles Social (1–3 PM)
Calling all Chinese bilingual singles (Cantonese and/or Mandarin + English), ages 25–40, who are open to meeting new people and making meaningful connections. To ensure a balanced and engaging experience, we will be selecting up to 30 female and 30 male participants.

This initiative is a collaborative effort led by the Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) in partnership with the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) and Self-Help for the Elderly. The project aims to activate public space, enhance neighborhood safety through increased foot traffic, and foster community-centered experiences in Chinatown.
