ArtSpan and the Ferry Building present Arrivals, an Art-In-Neighborhoods exhibition showcasing work by six local ArtSpan Artist Members whose lives and practices have been shaped by the immigrant experience.

The exhibition is situated inside the Ferry Building, which has been a portal into San Francisco since 1898, the first place countless people stood on new ground after long journeys across oceans, borders, and the Bay itself. Arrivals places contemporary art made by living immigrant artists into that historical context, transforming the Grand Hall into a space where those ongoing stories can be seen, felt, and honored.

The works span 2D and 3D: mixed media prints layered with graphite and digital color, intimate and monumental oil portraits, fragmented ceramic tile works, large-scale acrylic canvases pulling from personal mythologies and Bay Area daily life, and quilts handstitched from family clothing. They ask different questions in different voices, but they gather around the same feelings: what it means to arrive, and what it takes to belong.
