ABOUT: Jazz Mafia’s newest project takes flight in 2023 reimagining modern pop music through the lens of a Jazz perspective.

Since it’s beginnings, Jazz has been reimagining popular songs; The music of the Tin Pan Alley era provided thousands of vehicles for Swing and Bebop musicians, and laid out the blueprint for decades of ever increasing variations on songs. In a current context we draw from EDM, Trap, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, and Popular music…nothing is off limits on a Future Standard setlist.

In live performances, the instruments often take on completely different sounds and roles by using a wide array of electronics and modern techniques that foreshadow the sonic world of the future.

This group is formed of players who’ve cut their teeth in the Jazz Mafia collective but now reside on both East and West coasts.

  • Daniel Casares - sax
  • Adam Theis - trombone, bass, synth
  • Andrew Levin - guitar, vocals
  • Matt Wong - keys, bass synth
  • Henry Plumb - drums, vocals
