ABOUT: Founded in early 2021, the Huney Knuckles were birthed during the quarantine at Black Star Pirate BBQ, one of the first places in town to host socially distanced outdoor live music. Shortly thereafter, they started up a monthly residency at Madrone Art Bar (July 2021 - ongoing) & the Boom Boom Room (Dec 2021 - Nov 2022) in Japantown SF where they quickly built a following and made a name for themselves as one of the most highly regarded new bands in the SF Bay Area. Guitarist Kelyn Crapp was added to the quartet as a 2nd guitarist in late 2021, further elevating the group with his soulful stylings & compositions, and over the next 2 years, the 5 piece performed at numerous venues across the bay from clubs to festivals, including the San Jose Jazz New Works Fest in April 2022.

After touring in Tokyo, Japan in April 2023 with bassist Kenji "Jino" Hino (son of Terumasa Hino), saxophonist Patrick Bartley & drummer Fuyu Murata, they released their 1st EP "Huney Knuckle Scuffle", recorded at the legendary Hyde Street Studios with famed producer Otis Mcdonald, along with accompanying music videos for each song, including a short flim "Each Day" directed by guitarist Kelyn Crapp, exploring new directions in abstract visual art. In October 2023, they were featured on KCSM 91.1FM in an interview by Pete Fallico, and have since then been back in the studio working on their next record with their newest addition, 17 year old Skylar Tang on trumpet.

In 2024, guitarist Kelyn Crapp was selected as a SJZ Jazz Aid Fund Awardee, making Huney Knuckles the only band in the Bay Area to have 5 Awardees as members (Tony Peebles - 2023, Skylar Tang - 2023, Brian Sheu - 2022, Kevin Wong - 2021).

You can find their latest music, video, and live video releases on Spotify, Youtube & Instagram respectively, as well as hear them at their residency at Madrone Art Bar in San Francisco every 4th Thursday (now bi-monthly)."
