Featured Artist: Cannonball Adderley Tribute

Jazz Mafia’s birthday tribute series continues with a vibrant homage to the great Cannonball Adderley, a titan of the alto sax and a charismatic frontman. Alongside his brother Nat, Cannonball pioneered a unique style of soulful and explosive improvisational music in the 60s and 70s that transformed the jazz landscape. This event focuses on the dynamic, heartfelt energy and innovative spirit of the Adderley brothers, brought to life through Jazz Mafia’s interpretation of their timeless classics.

Featuring a stellar lineup of John Palowich (alto sax), Mike Olmos (trumpet), Adam Theis (trombone), Colin Hogan (piano), Josh Thurston-Milgrom (upright bass), and Henry Plumb (drums).

This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP required.

Jazz on the Plaz(a) is produced by the Downtown SF Partnership with support from Jazz Mafia.
