Featured Artist: Prince Reimagined

Oakland’s powerhouse collective Jazz Mafia dives deep into the purple catalog for Prince Reimagined, a high energy tribute to the music of Prince. Now in its third year, the show has become a fan favorite with all performances selling out last season. From slow burning ballads to high octane funk anthems, the band reimagines Prince’s iconic songs through the lens of jazz, soul, and hip hop. Led by composer and trombonist Adam Theis and featuring the electrifying vocals of Kate Lamont, the ensemble delivers bold arrangements, deep grooves, and fearless improvisation while honoring the spirit of Prince’s legendary catalog.

Performers: Kate Lamont (vocals), Daniel Casares (sax, vocals), Adam Theis (trombone, vocals), Dave Macnab (guitar, vocals), Ian McArdle (keys), Joshua Thurston-Milgrom (upright bass), and Henry Plumb (drums).

This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP required.
