Jazz Mafia serves a fresh jazz combo to Mechanics Monument Plaza every Wednesday from 12-2 PM, transforming this iconic downtown space into a vibrant lunchtime retreat. The plaza comes alive with live music for you recharge and soak in great jazz during your midweek, midday break. Grab lunch, step outside, and enjoy some music that makes the city feel a little jazzier.

Featured Artist: Sam Bevan Sextet

Born in Oakland and raised in Salt Lake City, Sam Bevan began classical piano at four, sang and played professionally, and earned a BA in French before focusing on bass, arranging, and composing. Since returning to Northern California in 1999 and relocating to New York in 2016, his versatile work across jazz, funk, folk, and Afro‑Cuban music has fueled a busy career and three CDs.
