Rebecca Camacho Presents is pleased to Stacy Lynn Waddell Stranger. The exhibition marks the solo debut of the artist at the gallery. The exhibition will be on view from September 3 through October 24, 2026. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 3, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

About the Exhibition

Inspired by James Baldwin’s 1953 essay Stranger in the Village, the series explores themes of otherness, identity, sexuality, and fear of the unknown. Using floral still life as a metaphor for the human body, Waddell creates low-relief botanical forms with handmade paper and pastiglia—a Renaissance technique—fossilized in 22-karat gold. The works blend traditional gilding with sculptural drawing to examine historical lineage, power, and the intersection of beauty and provocation.
