Run to the Arts:
What do running and art have in common? Feelings. So, what better way to spend your morning than by immersing yourself in those feelings? Join Track & Feels Run Club on October 20th at 8:30 a.m. in the gardens across the street from SFMOMA for “Run to the Arts." They will be hosting a 5K run followed by a 5K art tour of the Get in the Game exhibit.
About Get in the Game:
At its heart, Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture offers a collection of stories that show how sports impacts our culture and our psyches. They’re the type of stories that fuel our collective passion for “the game.”
Things to be excited about:
- Free art tour of the Get in the Game exhibit.
- A custom jersey designed by the Track & Feels team.
- A refuel station with stickers and a screen printing booth. Bring blank shirts, totes bags, hats, pants or whatever you want screen printed on for free.
- SFMOMA buzzing like game day at a stadium.
- A marching band at the end of the run.
- An interactive Q&A session using a bespoke baton designed specifically for this event. Come prepared to answer questions about sports and music.
The Baton:
Inspired by the lanes of a race track, the converging lines symbolize the brief yet significant moment two athletes meet.
Come see the baton in person and take part in an interactive experience where you can share a record of your favorite sports moments and what inspires you to run.
Screen Prints:
There will be various screens for you to play with.
Limited Edition Prints:
Make sure to arrive early! They will be giving away limited edition prints! Inspired by the feeling of being in the zone and laser-focused on the path ahead. The text leading into the horizon features writing about the joy of Zone 2 running.
Route Details:
Meet at Yerba Buena East Gardens accross the street from SFMOMA. Find the artwork of a glass ship.
- Check-in starts at 8:30am
- Grab your swag and talk about your feelings with others
- Warm up at 8:45am
- Run starts at 9:00am
- Run towards Market & 3rd
- Down Market towards the Ferry Building
- Hit Embarcadero, take a right towards Oracle Park
- Loop Oracle Park and head back to 3rd Ave
- Run down 3rd Ave and back to Yerba Buena East Gardens
- Have a dance party with the marching band!!
- Refuel station inside for water and refreshments
