Join KALW for a celebration of Bay Area youth in civic engagement, with podcasts, panels, and innovative projects on empowering young voters

Join KALW for a dynamic event showcasing the voices and impact of Bay Area youth in civic engagement. This gathering celebrates youth-led initiatives to energize and empower young voters.

The event will feature a special listening session for *tbh*, KALW's nationally award-winning youth-produced series, followed by presentations from local youth organizations. The League of Women Voters San Francisco Youth Council will showcase their "VRing Democracy Project" and podcast, offering a creative blend of technology and activism to educate voters. The San Francisco Youth Commission, RYSE, Oakland Kids First, and 3rd Street Leadership Academy (3LA) will participate in panel discussions and breakout groups, diving into their innovative work on civic engagement, social justice, and policy change.

Highlights include:

  • VRing Democracy Project by the League of Women Voters San Francisco Youth Council
  • β€œVote For Us” Campaign by RYSE, with screenings of their social media videos.
  • Panel discussions and breakout groups led by youth leaders from the San Francisco Youth Commission, Oakland Kids First (Measure QQ work), and 3rd Street Leadership Academy (3LA), offering in-depth conversations about their ongoing initiatives to uplift youth voices in the voting process.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the next generation of changemakers as they share their experiences, insights, and creative solutions for a more engaged and informed electorate.

There is a $10 - $20 sliding scale suggested donation for this event. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. We're hosting this gathering to help inform the electorate.
