Step into the Port Room at the Ferry Building for an evening celebrating the full cycle of Bay Area circular fashion, presented by Rethink The Runway & Women in Cleantech and Sustainability. The Thrift Flip brings together both sides of the secondhand revolution: the creative power of mending and the strategic push for resale.
Discover how thrifting and mending fuel the secondhand market. Whether you’re an expert stitcher turning thrifted finds into custom resale creations, a consumer wanting to give loved garments a second life, or a brand scaling the tech behind re-commerce, together we’ll explore how closet cleanouts and creative upcycling meet to power a booming sustainable fashion ecosystem.
Program:
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Welcome & Community Networking, with Y So Sweet desserts and Oomee drinks. Featuring Designer Showcase by The Living Archive.
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: "Future of Resale" Panel Discussion + Q&A moderated by Liz Hwang
- 7:00 PM – 7:15 PM: Break time - Networking & workshop preparations
- 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM: Sashiko workshop led by Jillian Clark of Roboro
- 8:15 PM – 8:30 PM: Closing remarks & event conclusion
