Andy Gilmore x META
About the Artist
Andy Gilmore is renowned for his chromatic, geometric, and kaleidoscopic compositions. Gilmore's work explores the physical properties of sound and light, rendered through meticulous digital draftsmanship. His extensive client list includes Wired, The New York Times, Fast Company, and Apple. For Let's Glow SF, his static mastery is translated into massive, moving architectural volume.
META has been redefining “experience” for sixteen years, evolving culture from within, leading with the "Art of Being There." META has collaborated with the artists reshaping reality, including St. Vincent, Goose, Skrillex, Murakami, Phish, Porter Robinson, BT, Troye Sivan, Kaki King, and many more. Brand experiences include Nike, Y-3, Spotify, Google, HP, Intel, Barneys, Naked Juice, and epic productions with Coachella, Panorama, Okeechobee, SXSW, Spirit Lake at Hulaween, and more.
This is the Art of Being There. Founder/CEO Justin Bolognino will be creating the AV mix set to the Lusine track "Retrace," from Ghostly records, using Andy Gilmore's motion graphic work.
About the Work
From the High Sierras to the Himalayas, winter is nearly universally defined by the descent of snow. Beneath the quiet blanket lies nature's most exquisite architecture: the fractal geometry of the snowflake. No two are alike; each is a masterpiece of hexagonal symmetry and self-similar structure at every scale.
Fractal Flakes visualizes this microscopic miracle on a monumental scale.
Andy Gilmore's precise kaleidoscopic matrices serve as metaphors for ice crystallization. As the piece unfolds, these geometric seeds "freeze" and multiply across the building's facade, blooming into massive, overlapping, luminous frost patterns.
This visual evolution is tightly choreographed with an audio-visual mix by Justin Bolognino of META, set to Lusine's track “Retrace,” released on Ghostly International.
