About the Artist
An electronic dysfunction? A bug? A visual artifact? GLITCH: those few rebel pixels that will shake up your perception of the image. If this bug bothers you at first glance, consider it instead a form of digital art, a modern expression of motion design within the vast world of audiovisual art.
GLITCH is a young Belgian collective established in Charleroi in 2019 by three passionate digital artists who have collaborated on numerous national and international shows. Fabien Nowak and Benoit Dal combined their technical and artistic skills to establish the collective and build a successful professional collaboration. Constantly seeking to evolve and eager to experiment with new techniques, GLITCH designs multimedia projects, including music videos, video mapping, set design, and immersive displays.
Dedicated to offering audiences unforgettable visual experiences and lasting memories, GLITCH strives above all to create shows as unique as you.
About the Work
PHAOS offers a poetic and contemplative exploration of winter through light and its encounter with matter.
Time seems to stand still. In this suspended moment, our gaze settles on an emerging light slowly passing through frost and ice. As it meets the frozen surface, it scatters, reflects, and refracts, revealing the nuances hidden within winter. From this encounter, colors are born: fragments of light that unfold, transform, and slowly come to life.
Ice becomes a prism, a space for contemplation where light reveals what was previously unseen. At first fragile and distant, this light evokes the gradual return of spring, followed by the warmth of summer. As it passes through winter, it unfolds into a spectrum of colors, like the first signs of nature on the verge of awakening.
As the light intensifies, the colors become warmer and more vibrant. Winter gradually fades, revealing the promise of the seasons to come.
This metamorphosis is accompanied by an original, mesmerizing soundtrack composed especially for the occasion by ELEFAN. Image and music evolve together in a sensitive dialogue, inviting the audience to slow down, observe, and contemplate the quiet transition from winter stillness toward light, color, and renewal.
PHAOS is a moment suspended in time, a contemplation of the cycle of the seasons where light becomes matter, movement, and, ultimately, a promise of renewal.
