Downtown SF Partnership Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Dining Micro Grant Program
Downtown restaurants are eligible for up to $5,000 of assistance to purchase and install outdoor dining improvements such as outdoor furniture, planters, lighting, barriers, and murals.
Program Overview: The Downtown Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Dining Micro Grant Program provides funding to restaurants to enhance their sidewalk and curbside dining spaces, creating a more vibrant and appealing streetscape that offers consistency throughout the district, ultimately helping to stimulate the downtown economy.
Downtown SF Partnership (DSFP) will provide matching grants of up to 50% of eligible project costs, up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of the total cost of eligible products and/or associated fees. Restaurants with valid Shared Spaces permits from the City & County of San Francisco shall be eligible for funding to purchase and install outdoor dining improvements as defined below, including:
- Outdoor furniture
- Outdoor lighting
- Planting and planters
- Barriers/partitions
- Exterior murals
Who Can Apply: This micro grant program is being funded by the Downtown SF Partnership and only restaurants within the boundaries of the Downtown Community Benefit District are eligible.

Application period closed: May 19, 2023
Evaluation period: May 22 - June 2, 2023
Grant Commitments Announced: Week of June 5 or week of June 12, 2023 - applicants will be notified via email.
