Details

Litquake is San Francisco's premier literary festival, bringing together hundreds of authors for a week of diverse readings, discussions, and performances celebrating the Bay Area's vibrant literary culture.

As part of the festival's exploration of nature and environment, this event features an insightful conversation about California's public lands.

The Enduring Wild

Outdoor enthusiast and author Josh Jackson takes readers on a road trip spanning thousands of miles across the Golden State to explore the 15 million acres of public wilderness collectively owned by the people—known as "BLM land."

In his book, The Enduring Wild, Jackson tells the stories of the Indigenous peoples who have called these lands home for millennia, the extractivist threats that imperil them today, and the grassroots organizers and political champions fighting to protect these natural treasures. Jackson will be in conversation with KALW’s Marissa Ortega-Welch.
