In addition, we are thrilled to announe that the evening will feature Madeline Hollander’s Radial Ritual. Presented by ICA SF and programming partner Art at a Time Like This, in collaboration with Lily Kwong’s EARTHSEED DOME.

Acclaimed choreographer and artist Madeline Hollander presents Radial Ritual, a site-specific performance featuring six dancers that celebrates the inception of Lily Kwong’s EARTHSEED DOME. The choreography draws inspiration from multiple scales: the rhythmic mechanistic movements of the 3D printing arm, the motions of germination as redwood seeds unfold their roots, and traditional agricultural folk dances. Through its cyclical repetition, the performance becomes a ritual that connects ancient technologies with the new and reveals the synergies made possible by this interplay of material, form, and community action.

In this singular public performance, Radial Ritual will continuously cycle from the site of EARTHSEED DOME, through Transamerica Redwood Park to the location of the 3D printing arm, and back through the park to the site. One loop will last approximately 10 minutes and will cycle at least 3 times. The audience is welcome to follow the performers as they move through this trajectory through the redwoods, and come and go as they please.

Performances will take place at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM & 8:30 PM.

Finally, during this year’s celebration and throughout SF Art Week, we’re excited to share that—thanks to a generous grant from the Svane Family Foundation’s Culture Forward Initiative (@svanefoundation)—SF Art Week and ICA SF will present a dedicated SF Art Week Hub at the Transamerica Pyramid Center. This welcoming hub will offer visitors a place to gather, recharge, and engage with the Bay Area’s vibrant arts community, featuring a schedule of programming throughout the week.

We look forward to seeing you there!
