New Business Openings Signal Downtown SF’s Momentum in 2025
Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Downtown San Francisco is in the midst of an exciting transformation. New businesses are infusing fresh energy into the area, while beloved legacy establishments continue to anchor the district with familiar charm and enduring value.
To support this thriving ecosystem, the Downtown SF Partnership (DSFP) actively tracks business openings and closures throughout downtown. These insights inform our programming, services, and street-level activations-- ensuring our work is responsive to the needs of over 420 ground floor business owners and aligned with our mission to foster long-term economic growth.
So far in 2025, four new businesses have opened their doors in DSFP's district, with even more expected in the coming months. This follows a strong showing in 2024, when twelve new ground floor businesses joined the downtown SF community. With ground floor leasing activity on the rise, there’s reason to believe that 2025 could surpass previous years in both gross and net business openings.
We’re highlighting the newest additions to the district and their unique offerings-- helping you discover what’s fresh, local, and energizing downtown.
Here are the new businesses that have opened in 2025:
Turtle Tower

An iconic name in Northern Vietnamese cuisine, Turtle Tower has made its much-anticipated return, this time in the heart of the Financial District. Known for its authentic Hanoi-style pho, the restaurant is once again serving both lunch and dinner crowds, drawing long lines that often spill out the door. When our Economic Development team stopped by during a weekday lunch rush, staff noted that the high volume has been consistent, even weeks after opening.
Turtle Tower once operated multiple locations across San Francisco but closed all storefronts in 2023 amid concerns about neighborhood cleanliness and safety. The opening of their new California Street location marks not only a comeback for the restaurant, but also a sign of downtown SF’s continued progress-- becoming cleaner, safer, and reaffirming its identity as a vibrant hub for cultural dining.

Polo Ralph Lauren

In early March 2025, Polo Ralph Lauren opened its only San Francisco location in Jackson Square, reinforcing the neighborhood’s growing reputation as a hub for luxury retail. Located at 441 Jackson Street, the new store brings a globally recognized brand to an area already known for its high-end fashion offerings.
This marks a return to the city for Polo Ralph Lauren, which previously had a storefront on Fillmore Street before closing in 2020. The brand’s reentry into the San Francisco market signals renewed confidence in downtown’s retail landscape and highlights Jackson Square’s emergence as a destination for premium shopping experiences.

Open Tuesday through Saturday evenings, the bar features live jazz and upbeat cover bands on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a go-to spot for after-work relaxation or weekend fun.
The space boasts an eclectic and colorful interior, filled with artwork and a stylish vibe that reflects the energy of downtown San Francisco.

With its bold pink and floral exterior, Margarita, Tacos & More brings vibrant energy and flavor to the Belden Place corridor, an area already celebrated for its diverse culinary offerings. This taqueria is a welcome addition to the Financial District’s multicultural food scene.
The menu features a wide range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering something to satisfy every craving, from classic tacos to hearty plates and refreshing margaritas.
