Susanna Port (Cello Kitty) was born in Boston, and holds a B.Mus. in Cello Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, a B.A. with Honors in Russian from Oberlin College, an M.A. in Russian Literature from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Teaching Certificate in Music from Carnegie Mellon University.  She has performed extensively in orchestras and chamber groups throughout Massachusetts and the San Francisco Bay Area.  Susanna was a co-founder (with fellow Obie Rebecca Thornblade) of the Cambridge (MA)-based Cello Chix, an electric cello and drums band that featured her arrangements of rock and pop tunes.  She has toured with The Magnetic Fields, and is currently playing classical music and jazz in local combos.  Since March 2020 Susanna has hosted over 100 porch & driveway concerts, showcasing local classical and jazz musicians and bringing the community together safely during the pandemic. She divides her time between free-lancing as a cellist, music arranging, proofreading, and engaging in environmental activism.
