The Story Beneath Your Feet
When you visit Landing at Leidesdorff, history is just beneath your feet. Though the bay is now blocks away, this site marks San Francisco's original 1850s waterfront, a bustling gateway where the city's story began.
During the Gold Rush, the legendary Long Wharf dock started right here at Commercial Street, serving as a critical hub for unloading goods and passengers sailing into San Francisco. In fact, some of those very ships are buried under your feet to this day!
