About the Artist

Nick Andre is a San Francisco based musician who has been producing music for the last decade and a half. Andre has worked with Gift Of Gab (Blackalicious), Lateef The Truth Speaker, Bicaso of Living Legends, Zion I, Lil B, Casual, Hanni El Khatib, Rob Sonic, Deuce Eclipse and has produced tracks featuring Slug of Atmosphere, Lyrics Born, Phesto of Souls Of Mischief, The Grouch and more.

Andre co-founded Slept On Records with friend Eric “E da Boss” Cooke from Myron & E (Stones Throw Records) and the Pendletons (Bastard Jazz Recordings) as an outlet to release music. They released a series of 12-inch and 7-inch records featuring Gift Of Gab, Lyrics Born, Bicaso and more. “We then both got signed to different labels, E went to Stones Throw and I did a record with MUSH”, says Andre. “We held on to the label and were able to keep our distribution and have used it as an outlet to be able to release our music on our terms and keep total control.”

In addition to contributing to the most recent album for the late Gift Of Gab’s “Finding Inspiration Somehow”, Andre also has a full length album with Lateef The Truth Speaker and several instrumental projects due for release later this year.

Andre also co-scored the full-length, feature-film “Chasing Valentine” and has had his music featured in the Showtime series “The Chi,” the Netflix original series “Easy,” and Freeform Network’s “Grownish.”

Additionally, Andre also has had a lengthy career composing original music for television and film. He has worked on national television ad campaigns for Reebok, Nike, Adidas, Mini Cooper, Clorox, ESPN X Games, Levi's, and has created original music for brands like HUF, Playboy, Marvel Studio, Thrasher Magazine and DC Snowboarding.
