Regular Programming

Public spaces are our jam! DSFP brings downtown to life through regular activations and programming, making San Francisco more welcoming and inviting for all. Although different areas of the district utilized for this purpose throughout the year, our two current programming hubs are Landing at Leidesdorff and Mechanics Monument Plaza.

Landing at Leidesdorff

Landing at Leidesdorff is a reimagined downtown experience for San Franciscans - activated with engaging programming, varying food and beverage options and art installations across historic alleyways and underutilized public spaces in the city’s traditional commercial corridor. The space was originally launched in September of 2021, and regularly features mid-day musical activations and occasional pop-up vendors.

Mechanics Monument Plaza

In addition to regular musical programming, Mechanics Monument Plaza hosts weekly chess activations with assistance provided by the nearby Mechanics Institute, a historic organization that boasts the oldest chess club in the country. Pop-up vendors can also occasionally be found at this usually sunny spot on Market Street.

You can stay up to date on all regular programming via DSFP’s event calendar.
