District Branding

Have you ever noticed the colorful street banners, garbage receptacles, or our uniformed Cleaning & Safety Ambassadors found throughout the Financial District and Jackson Square? The Downtown SF Partnership is behind these small, mindful touches in the public realm that create a cohesive, inviting sense of place throughout the district.

The intentional elements used in these visuals offer a nod to the area’s rich history, such as a wave graphic which alludes to the fact that the district served as SF’s original coastline, or the triangle that references the downtown’s iconic skyline. These subtle elements echo the exciting pioneering past of downtown while welcoming today’s urban explorers.

The bright colors utilized in these branded pieces throughout the district sport SF centric names like SF Dahlia, SF Mint, Transamerica Redwood, and Shell Mound Midden. This colorful palette is meant to evoke the feeling that downtown is an inviting, fun, accessible place for all.
