Director of Marketing and Communications

Email: melissa@downtownsf.org

Hailing from the east coast's nonprofit sector, Melissa brings a fresh perspective to downtown San Francisco. As the former Director of Development and Communications for Montco SAAC, a senior-centric organization based in the Philadelphia suburbs, and in her role as president of the Montgomery County LGBT Business Council, she has amassed nine years of relevant experience in integrated marketing, leveraging community partnerships, and equitably elevating communities to their highest potential.

With a bachelor's degree in communications and minors in sociology and advertising from the University of Delaware, a certificate from UPenn's Center for Social Impact Strategy's Executive Program, and her years of experience in nonprofits, Melissa plays a crucial role reimagining downtown SF in a post-lockdown world.

In 2021, Melissa relocated from Philadelphia to join her partner, Emily, in Potrero Hill. When she’s not soaking up history and exploring dives downtown, she enjoys horseback riding in Marin, kayaking in the bay, or gallivanting in the City with her friends.
